The newest edition of the US’ biggest-selling car, the 2018 Honda Accord, has been revealed in Detroit.
The new Accord model is lighter, yet stronger and comes with the world’s first 10-speed automatic transmission, or a six-speed manual gearbox, paired with a two-litre turbo engine. A smaller 1.5-litre version is matched with ECT auto transmission or the six-speed manual box.
It will go on sale in the northern hemisphere fall. Frankly, we think the front end design is decidedly ugly. But Honda describes the look as “more premium”, highlighted by shorter overhangs, “a bold front fascia, a long and low hood”.
“The visual centre of gravity moved closer to the rear wheels.” Um, if you say so…
Since the first model was launched in 1976, Honda has sold more than 13 million Accords in the US.
So readers, hot or not?
