Watchmaker Casio has created a limited-edition digital watch inspired by New Era Cap Co’s signature headpiece, the 59Fifty Fitted.
The Casio G-Shock New Era watch looks just like the cap – an understated yet impactful colour scheme of classic shades of black and gold.
The DW5600NE-1 features a gold clasp, alongside gold accents on the face. The base model is the square Casio DW5600 watch, whose shape and dark coloring recalls the look of the original G-Shock. The watch also displays the New Era logo on the face and back of the watch.
It’s sold in collectable packaging, designed in the form of a New Era cap and featuring G-Shock’s 35th anniversary logo.
“After seeing the success of our previous collaborations with New Era, we’re excited to launch the latest model with a brand whose legacy is in line with G-Shock’s,” said David Johnson, VP of Casio’s timepiece division.
New Era has been making caps for more than 90 years and is best-known for producing the official sideline cap of the NFL, the official on-court cap of the NBA and the official on-field cap of the MLB.
