Modern day exercise enthusiasts want accessories that reflect their individual style and personality – so believe Artletica founder, Alex Vainer.
So he invented a range of yoga mats which offer a strong grip but don’t have a dull look. Described as the “first intelligent yoga platform”, Artletica’s mats have breakthrough features, such as:
- Awe-inspiring artwork: Each of the six designs available showcase a worldly theme that was rendered possible after an international contest that drew over 1000 entries. More than 400 people submitted potential designs in a months-long competition. The result is captivating mats that marry the inspiration of India and the Far East with the modern monochromatic concepts born in New York City.
- Slip-resistant surface: Unlike any of its predecessors, Artletica mats use a new method of manufacturing, which prints the designs directly onto the mats, making them less slippery than other mats, yet still colourful and eye-catching.
- Environmentally responsible: Each mat is made from the natural rubber of the Para rubber tree and they are sold in packaging which is fully recyclable and biodegradable.
Says Vainer: “Throughout my yoga practice, I found that most yoga mats were often plain and flavourless. The few mats that did have a design were of poor quality and hardly struck me with their charm. They were missing the artistic touch and creativity that a superb mat should encompass. Therefore, I embarked on a journey to create just that – an eco-friendly, high-quality exercise mat that was stunning in design.”
A Kickstarter Campaign, running through to September 14, reached its goal within just an hour of its launch, raising more than $10,000 to mass produce the mats.
