Diet Coke cans are getting a makeover in North America.
Parent Coca-Cola Company says the “crisp iconic taste” launched back in 1982 is not changing – “You don’t mess with a good thing” – but the packaging earns a bold new look, a fresh attitude, and four new zero-calorie flavours are joining the original.
“Every good icon knows that evolution is everything,” explains the beverage giant in a Canadian press release.
“That’s why we’re rolling out a modern design and adding new 310 ml sleek cans – but still with that old-school Diet Coke vibe and great taste.”
Coke says market research canvasing the opinions of more than 10,000 consumers and years of internal testing of flavours has led to the range extension. The four new flavours are Feisty Cherry, Twisted Mango, Zesty Blood Orange and Ginger Lime.
“Trust us when we say, you haven’t tasted anything like this before.”
Well, we’ll wait for a taste test before we pass final judgement, but the can designs sure look pretty cool!
