Hong Kong startup Emmesphere has converted usually mundane-looking headphones into a stylish fashionable accessory.
The Emmesphere Sound Necklace is designed to offer a fashion statement which also functions as earplugs without compromising on function or sound quality. Having the headphones embedded in the necklace allows the user to keep the headphones neatly around their neck all the time with easy access to music listening while solving the issues of headphones cables tangling with other accessories and fear of losing the headphones or ear pieces.
Emmesphere designed the in-ear piece for an ergonomic fit and comfort for listening all day long. But it also ensured high performance sound for music or voice calls.
Emmesphere’s Sound Necklaces can be paired with smartphones using Bluetooth 4.0 and a built-in microphone and remote control allows wearers to take calls, talk to Siri, prompt voice commands, play/pause music, switch songs and adjust volume – all without touching the phone. The products are compatible with iPhone, iPad, Android, and most Bluetooth devices.
They and are part of the maiden lineup of necklaces embodied with wireless headphones feature. Interchangeable Qliq! jewellery pieces can be swapped out and “clicked” into via an embedded magnetic lock, allowing the user to change the style of the necklace pendant to suit their mood or complement their clothing colour.
Various Cliq! collections include designs with enamel patterns, Swarovski crystals or handcrafted jewelled pieces.
Emmesphere has pre-launched the sound necklace on Indiegogo. At the time of writing, US$12,350 had been raised of the $20,000 target.
