An Israeli company is building an electric aircraft designed to take nine passengers up to 1000km at more than 240knots – all for the price of a train ticket.
Eviation is expecting to begin flight testing late this year with commercial availability slated for 2021.
It will cost about $2 million-plus – similar to the Cessna Caravan which also seats nine – but Eviation CEO Omer Bar-Yohay says the maintenance and fuel costs will be far lower.
And one of the biggest advantages is the quietness both in flight and on the ground.
In February the copmany signed up South Korea’s Kokam as its battery supplier.
