Bond No 9 is celebrating the evolution of its low-key, unassuming digs in New York’s Bond Street into “a hotspot, thronged with see-and-be-seen young celebs and attendant paparazzi”.
The perfume brand is launching a new creation – New Bond St – on September 15.
“Here at Bond No 9, we’ve always loved the out-of-the-way NoHo side street that’s been our headquarters and flagship since 1999. Today, this two-block cobblestoned stretch is no longer unassuming. Suddenly it’s Sure. It still exudes a vintage downtown vibe. But dramatic changes have taken place on Bond Street. Over the past several years, it’s evolved into a zone of casually elegant fabulousness for the millennial supermodels, the iconic movie stars, the politicos and business tycoons who’ve moved into the minimalist starchitect condos now punctuating Bond Street. Not to mention the … savvy young shoppers frequenting the indie boutiques and A-list destination restaurants that have sprung up as if by magic.”
Bond No 9 describes its New Bond St fragrance as “a rich, strong, very sexy, multi-sexual gourmand oriental scent which starts out with a wake-up call: citrusy bergamot, pepper and dewy muguet – the only floral in this scent.
“Then come the edible mid-notes: soothing cocoa, high-energy coffee beans and creamy chestnut. And finally, exotica: lingering patchouli, vanilla and sandalwood, mingled with feral leatherwood.”
All those sensations from a bottle of perfume!
It comes in a “fire-engine red” star-shaped bottle with a black leopard print, the distinctive Bond No 9 logo front and centre in gold relief.
Besides going on sale in its opulent Bond Street digs (see above) it will be on counters in No. 9 New York Boutiques, Saks Fifth Avenue stores US-wide and selected Bloomingdale’s stores, as well as at Harrods in London, Selfridges in the UK and online at www.bondno9.com.
A regular 100ml bottle of New Bond St will set you back US$405, with a New Bond St Swarovski Limited Edition version costing an extra $80 on top.
