The new Philips Sonicare toothbrush sends information about your cleaning experience to your phone via Bluetooth.
The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart is described as “an intuitive brush head system” using ‘Smart Brush Head Recognition’ technology. Each of the four new brush heads in the range includes a built-in microchip that automatically syncs to the brush head with sensors located in the handle that feature optimal cleaning modes and intensity settings “for a bespoke cleaning experience”.
The smart sensors track motion, guide the user on the correct pressure and track the location of the brush head so as you never miss a zone.
The brush head performance monitor even provides personalised feedback on when to change the brush head for peak performance – thus ensuring optimal resale opportunities for Philips!
The Philips Sonicare app provides users with real-time feedback and personalised coaching on their brushing routines for a complete clean.
“Through our research we know that consumers want to achieve their healthiest smile, but don’t often know how they are doing in between visits to their dental professional,” said Alexander Harris, senior marketing director, with Philips Oral Healthcare. “We developed Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart while working closely with dental professionals to eliminate the guesswork from tooth brushing.”
One of the sensors triggers a flashing light on the handle if the user is applying too much pressure being applied while brushing.
The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart has gone on sale at Philips.com and Amazon.com, and major retailers, available in four colors – white, black, pink and silver – with the recommended price of $229. The Philips Sonicare app is free to download from the Apple and Google Play app stores.
