A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to fund the US-wide roll-out of a “smart water” containing a therapeutic cannabis extract.
CBD Water – named after the “cannabinoid” extract it contains – is made from a patented crystalline isolate, a 99.9 per cent-pure, water-soluble powder. CBD is described as a powerful anti-epileptic, anti-depressant, anti-inflammatory, anti-nauseate, sleep aid, muscle relaxant, and sedative. These are the reasons, explains CBD Water co-founder Felix Rey, why so many Americans rely on CBD products for medicinal purposes as opposed to wanting the “high” effects of cannabis and marijuana.
THC – the component of cannabis which makes people high – is not present at all in CBD Water, meaning the product will be entirely legal in all 50 US states. It can potentially be sold from a grocery or convenience stores, with no prescription necessary. It will not make people high like smoking or consuming cannabis plant.
“We wanted to bring to the market an amazing product, combining what most of us drink; water, with the incredible medicinal benefits of CBD,” says Rey.
The water is all natural with no artificial colors or flavourings.
“You might think some of the flavour names are a little bizarre: Purple Haze, Lemon Skunk, Bong Water, Red Dragon, Orange Kush and Blue Dream – but be assured that these waters are clean, light and extremely refreshing as the CBD used is virtually tasteless, colourless and odourless.
“The beauty of this product is its accessibility. CBD has been legal in all 50 states for some time, but each state has its own level of THC permissible and most of the CBD products (oils) have THC present in trace amounts. Our product has zero THC, so this is a product that could go into any 7-11 or Walmart tomorrow,” says Rey.
The parent company – 420/H20 – will be donating 10 per cent of all net profits to Pride Foundation, LA Pride and other LGBTQ causes across the US.
“Many people ask or make presumptions that we smoke weed or we must be LGBTQ to be doing this. It is neither, respectively, but that is none of anyone’s business,” says Rey. “We live in a global community where all human beings should have the right to be themselves. Period.”
The water was launched today on the Indiegogo campaign.
